Speed Painting Reboot 18 - Supervillain

This has proved to be the most difficult one so far - this image below was the third attempt at a reboot. Then I realised why. The original speedpaint ended up taking 3 hours. Now, while I could probably roughly replicate that scene in an hour, for the new version to actually design a semi interesting costume AND a nice background was a bit less practical in my hour time limit.

The original image was a mixture of the concept behind "The Raven King" character refered to in the book Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell (good book incidentally) and imagery from Neil Gaiman's Sandman. The new version ended up using a photo of me standing on rocks from Cornwall last week as reference, and went less with the pale wraithlike colours and more with that of someone who is exposed to the elements.

I'm kind of glad this is over and done with so I can get back into the swing of the daily paintings!
